Hi, I’m Alex.

I was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Irvine, California. After a decade working as an actor on stage, on camera, and in theme parks, I’m delighted to be a full-time voice actor and Audie Award-nominated audiobook narrator recording from my home studio in Grover Beach, CA. To date, I’ve recorded over 275 books. I’m incredibly lucky to do this every day, and I adore connecting with authors, book lovers, and colleagues in the industry. I have a soft spot for narrating rom-coms and thrillers. And I'm always up for a juicy nonfiction title (especially one involving pop culture or music).

My background is in theater, with a BFA from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama. I created a solo show about Steely Dan, and I once designed and made a bunch of masks for a physical theater show. I also play a little piano. Mostly Steely Dan.

When I'm not in the recording booth, I'm probably out hiking somewhere along California's Central Coast or planning my next backpacking trip. My Jewish heritage is also part of my background and something I welcome opportunities to explore through storytelling. At home, my wife Kristin and I are kept busy by Apollo, our rescue dog whose back legs don't work but whose personality works overtime.

I'm always looking for ways to grow as a narrator and connect with other people who love this work as much as I do. I want to make audiobooks I'm proud of, learn from my fellow artists, and share whatever useful things I discover along the way. Above all, I believe my greatest asset as a storyteller is my humanity. Every day in the booth, I try to bring as much of myself to the work as I can. Hopefully, you can hear that in my voice.
